Meet our 2023 Artists in Residence!
We are very proud to announce the 3 artists who are now currently in residence, from our recent open call for artists to spend a month developing artworks at our creative space in East London.
The artists are in residence with Oitij-jo for a month and will do a public showcasing of works on 10th June 2023. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more information to come soon. For now, meet Ace Rahman, Tasnim Sidiqqa Amin and Udit Datta.
ACE RAHMAN
Ace Rahman (He/Him) is a Sylheti-Bengali artist, model and multi-hyphenate who’s work explores the connections between graphics, textiles, art and art direction.

TASNIM SIDIQQA AMIN
Tasnim Siddiqa Amin (She/They) is a Bangladeshi-British artist, theatremaker and writer from Tower Hamlets. Her practice is grounded in anti-racism, postcolonialism and intersectional feminism. She has more than ten years of experience working in theatre, education and community engagement.
Currently Tasnim is developing her first full-length play The Final Trumpet which follows a mother & daughter who have lost their home in a terrible flood. Set in an imaginary Bangladesh the play seeks to raise awareness of internal displacement in countries in the Global South impacted by climate change. As part of the residency she will be testing workshop and sustainable design ideas with local artists and activists.

UDIT DATTA
Udit (They/Them) is a trans disciplinary artist and poet. They create immersive narratives, using sculptural installations and performance. Their most recent work explores the transformative potential in matter through a multimedia orchestra of bodies in live performance.
